Lake Nipissing

With its many islands, Lake Nipissing is the fifth-largest lake in Ontario (excluding Canada's Great Lakes). It is relatively shallow for its size, with an average depth of 14 ft. The shallowness of the Lake Nipissing makes for many sandbars along the lake's irregular coastline. The largest population centre on the lake's shoreline is the city of North Bay, sitting along the lake's northeastern shoreline.
